It's a Boy!

Statistics:
Name - Andrew Micaiah Swaffer
Birthdate - 12/15/05
Weight - 4lbs, 11oz
Length - 18.3 inches
Hair - Blond (getting darker)???
Eyes - Brown or Blue ???

Since this is the first post, I will bring everyone up to date.

Thursday 12/15/05
c. 9:30 a.m. - We arrived at the hospital
10:55 a.m. - Andrew's official birth time
c. 11:15 a.m. - Andrew was taken to NICU
c. 12:30 p.m. - Brian (Dad) and Molly (Mom) were able to go see Andrew in NICU. He has a C-pap (sp?) to help him breathe. He is on 100% room air. He has an IV in his hand and several monitor wires on his body.

Friday 12/16/05
Mom was able to hold Andrew for about 30 minutes today. He continues to do well. His c-pap was removed about 10:30 and Andrew is breathing 100% by himself.






Saturday 12/17/05
I(Dad) was able to hold Andrew for almost an hour. He is a very content little boy. Mom was discharged around noon today. She is tired and ready to go home. Unfortunately Andrew will stay in NICU for a couple of weeks.
Andrew took a nipple for the first time and sucked 5 cc's of milk (1/4oz). He is being weened off of the IV. He gets 10 cc's of milk every 3 hours.


Sunday 12/18/05
Andrew's milk has been increased to 15 cc's. His Billy Reuben count is up and he is on phototherapy.







Monday 12/19/05
Andrew's IV is out! He is getting about 35 cc's of milk. Mom spent most of the day with him. I got to feed him after work and he nippled about 5 cc's before he got tired.
